Description
Here’s yet another example of what’s going on in Breitbaren’t land.
What is a Breitbaren’t? A Breitbaren’t is someone who pretends to be Andrew Breitbart, or invokes his name to justify their attacks on anyone they disagree with, or claims to be his best friend when they didn’t know Andrew that long. We’ve seen a lot of that lately from a certain group of people. We’ve addressed this behavior previously.
Last week, Mark Scudder, an independent musician, was having a Twitter discussion with @katearthsis about visibility, or lack thereof, when it comes to conservative artists. So, Mark is supposed to read this conservative book, watch that conservative pundit on TV, or retweet some conservative’s blog post, but he can’t point out the double-standard when it comes to him being a conservative artist, or people will accuse him of acting “entitled”. I haven’t seen any self-entitled behavior from Mark to date. The bigger problem is that Mark has been attacked for a week over an innocuous tweet. As an aside, some of Mark’s music is pretty damned good. For example, I bought this single of Mark’s.
Guys, help me make a list of prominent conservatives who ignore conservative artists (i.e. Beck, Loesch, etc.).Need it for a project today
— Mark Scudder (@mark_scudder) July 28, 2012
@mark_scudder ignoring? Do they do this, or do they simply not know about them?
— Kitmeister (@katearthsis) July 28, 2012
After some further discourse, the two seem to agree.
@mark_scudder I agree completely. Unfortunately, it’s a reality. Lots of cons don’t understand the left, or art, and that relationship
— Kitmeister (@katearthsis) July 28, 2012
But, look who pops in as Mark and Kate are having a decent chat, makes a rather grand unsupported claim, and says that he wants to be left out of the conversation.
@mark_scudder @katearthsis leave me out of this conversation. Nobody is doing more to support artists who happen to be conservative than me.
— Chris Loesch (@ChrisLoesch) July 28, 2012
Then the butthurt begins… actually, Mark didn’t use any Twitter handles in his initial tweet, so people like you who state quite clearly that they don’t want to be part of such conversations wouldn’t be “bothered”. And now you’re continuing the conversation? Hmm… strange way to support your desire to be left out of the discourse.
So calling me out without using my twitter handle is cowardly. @mark_scudder @katearthsis I have my tastes you have yours.
— Chris Loesch (@ChrisLoesch) July 28, 2012
Then the usual hangers-on dive in since Mr. Loesch used the “I’ll put text before the @ symbol to make sure that everyone sees this conversation I didn’t wanna be part of” trick. This is not an exhaustive list of tweets. For example, @AblativMeatshld, harassed Mark with 35 tweets!
Gary is one to talk about splashing one’s mediocre music with patriotism. Listen to his music sometime for some hilarious irony. We’ll clown Gary and his rage on Fubar very soon.
@chrisloesch The first rule in art is be good.Just splashing it with patriotism doesn’t make it good @mark_scudder
— Gary Eaton (@garysteveneaton) July 28, 2012
A friend of Mark’s chimes in in response with an astute observation.
@mark_scudder Forget it, cons are cliquey. Not about talent. After all, they only seem to like Gary Eaton whose music will never mainstream.
— Diane Student (@FreedomsWings) August 3, 2012
But Gary won’t have any dissenting opinions, especially about his music.
@freedomswings Wow, that was lame.And douchey.And chickenshit @mark_scudder
— Gary Eaton (@garysteveneaton) August 3, 2012
Gary, just a week ago you said others don’t need to support you. But you didn’t really mean that did you?
@smokie_tx No everyone likes what I do. I dont expect support. @chrisloesch @mark_scudder
— Gary Eaton (@garysteveneaton) July 28, 2012
And things get nastier as the other Breitbaren’ts join in. Here’s where Mandy Nagy’s (@liberty_chick) boyfriend, Scott Jacobs (@AblativMeatshld mentioned above) You’ll remember him, he’s the one who told everyone at RedState to “Go fuck yourselves!” because they didn’t agree with his very radical leftist perspective on homosexuality. Or maybe he was trying to say that Mandy is a dude or that he’s a girl? Let’s hope not.
Attention – The dickwad @mark_scudder demands the time, attention, and free promotion by people simply because he is “conservative”…
— AblativMeatshld (@AblativMeatshld) August 2, 2012
@liberty_chick nono. Those two are CONSERVATIVES, so we should do it all FOR THEM. @freedomswings @mark_scudder
— AblativMeatshld (@AblativMeatshld) August 3, 2012
ATTENTION – @freedomswings and @mark_scudder are deluded fuckwits. Avoid at all costs, help at your own risk.
— AblativMeatshld (@AblativMeatshld) August 3, 2012
Mark’s friend, Diane, with more spot-on insight.
@ablativmeatshld @mark_scudder Wow this Meat guy is telling all his buddies who already ignore us to ignore us. Because they think #caring
— Diane Student (@FreedomsWings) August 3, 2012
@liberty_chick @freedomswings Other than the fact that he’s harassed me on Twitter & criticized my music without hearing it, nothing.
— Mark Scudder (@mark_scudder) August 3, 2012
Yeah, Mark, what do you have against Gary Eaton? The Breitbaren’ts expect you to take it laying down when someone calls your songs “selfish” (whatever that bit of lunacy means – a selfish song?! lmao! mmmk) and “dull”. Stop being an idiot, Mark, these people with no real musical cred are trying to instruct you in the error of your ways regarding music. Wise up, Mark! /sarcasm
@liberty_chick @ablativmeatshld The ignorance is incredible.Hence the selfish, dull songs. @freedomswings @mark_scudder
— Gary Eaton (@garysteveneaton) August 3, 2012
@mark_scudder He was taking issue w tweets he observed from you to others over a period of time. Regardless, send to me, I’ll offer feedback
— Mandy Nagy (@Liberty_Chick) August 3, 2012
@liberty_chick This AblativMeatshld has been harassing me for more than 24 hours now. Arguing against something I didn’t say.
— Mark Scudder (@mark_scudder) August 3, 2012
And finally, Mandy attacks Mark but lets all these other Breitbaren’ts who’ve had a history of attacking conservatives off the hook.
@mark_scudder Holy crap! Where the hell did I insinuate THAT? Jesus. Forget it with THAT attitude. I tried to be constructive & nice to you.
— Mandy Nagy (@Liberty_Chick) August 3, 2012
@liberty_chick I didn’t ask for feedback. You either like it or you don’t. It is what it is.
— Mark Scudder (@mark_scudder) August 3, 2012
Remember the tweet that started all this. These Breitbaren’ts don’t have much of a problem treating people like shit over the smallest things do they? Did that many people need to attack Mark over this tweet?
Guys, help me make a list of prominent conservatives who ignore conservative artists (i.e. Beck, Loesch, etc.).Need it for a project today
— Mark Scudder (@mark_scudder) July 28, 2012
Keep it up, Breitbaren’ts – you do your namesake proud.
